Sleep sounds that never loop.
Real recordings of rain, surf, crickets and a bedroom fan, plus seven shades of noise. Mix them your way, set a timer that fades out gently, and let the screen go dark.
Coming soon to iPhone and Android. Free to start.
32 sounds, most of them recorded.
Field recordings from licensed sound libraries: a mountain stream, waves on a beach, a train in motion, a cat purring up close. The noise colors and tones are generated on your phone. Every sound has its own painting.
Rain that never hits the same bump twice.
Most sleep apps repeat a short clip. Once you notice the seam (a drip, a gust, a click) you start waiting for it, and that's the opposite of falling asleep.
Noctune takes segments from random places in a longer recording and fades each one into the next. The order and length change every time, so the sound keeps moving the way real rain does.
The picture follows the night.
Every sound has a full-screen painting in four versions. Noctune shows the one that matches your clock and crossfades slowly when the hour turns. When the sleep timer is running, the artwork fades almost to black.

Made for the last half hour of your day.
- Mix your own
- Lay rain over brown noise and add a fan in the next room. Each sound has its own volume and tone, so rain can sound like it's outside the window instead of on the roof. Save the mixes you like.
- A timer that lets go slowly
- 15, 30 or 45 minutes, one or two hours, any length from 5 minutes to 10 hours, or until a time you pick. The sound fades out slowly over the last tenth of the timer (from 30 seconds up to 10 minutes) instead of stopping dead.
- Sleep mode
- One tap turns the screen black. The sound keeps playing and nothing glows on the nightstand.
- Thunder that doesn't startle
- Recorded strikes arrive at random moments, but every one fades in. Choose how often the storm rumbles and how far away it is.
- A heartbeat at your pace
- A real heartbeat, recorded through a stethoscope, that you can slow to 40 or speed up to 100 beats per minute.

Questions
When is Noctune coming out?
We're finishing the app now. It will come to iPhone and Android at the same time. Leave your e-mail below and we'll write once, on the day it's out.
Is Noctune free?
It's free to start. 8 sounds are free for good (white, pink and brown noise, rain, ocean waves, crickets, a fan and a heartbeat), and so are the sleep timer, sleep mode and saved mixes. Premium unlocks all 32 sounds and mixes with more than three sounds at once. Our promise: what's free stays free, and Lifetime stays yours. We won't move free sounds behind the paywall or turn a one-time purchase into a subscription.
Do I need an account or an internet connection?
No and no. There's no sign-up, and every sound is stored inside the app, so it plays in airplane mode. The app only goes online to check a purchase with Apple or Google.
Do the sounds loop?
The recordings don't loop the way a short clip does. Noctune plays segments from random places in each recording and fades one into the next, so you won't hear the same seam every few seconds. The heartbeat and the music-box lullaby are rhythmic, so those two repeat on purpose.
Is it safe to sleep with sound on all night?
For most adults a quiet, steady sound is fine, but keep it low, not on full volume next to your ear. We wrote a careful guide with the sources: Is it safe to sleep with white noise every night?
Can I use it for my baby?
Many parents do, but follow the pediatric advice: keep the phone well away from the crib, the volume low, and never put a device inside the crib. Our guide covers the details: White noise for babies.
Does Noctune collect my data?
As little as we could manage. No account, no ads, no analytics in the app. Your mixes stay on your phone. Purchases are handled by Apple or Google, and RevenueCat checks them using an anonymous ID. Details in the privacy policy.
